Initially started as Food Craft Institute, IHM Hyderabad today serves as one of the most desirable Institutes for hotel management in the country.

The students are not only financially satisfied but also are conferred with abilities such as problem-solving skills, good leadership qualities, decent organizational skills, self-motivation, better communication, creativity, and originality, etc. IHM-Hyderabad was registered in the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Public Societies Act, 1350 Fasli (Act I of 1350F) and was subsequently changed from “Food Craft Institute” to “Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Hyderabad” when the Department of Tourism, Govt. of India elevated the Institute in 1984 by introducing a three-year Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
What makes the campus of IHM-Hyderabad suitable to students is the fact that the campus is well-furnished with good infrastructure and hostel facilities along with a location that is home to national and international hotels that helps the students to practically engage themselves with the activities and services in the curriculum. IHM-Hyderabad is affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida.
The Institute offers many courses such as Bachelor of Science in Hospitality & Hotel Administration for three years, postgraduate diploma in Accommodation Operations & Management and craftsmanship course in Food Production & Patisserie for one & half year, craftsmanship course in Food & Beverage Service six months as well as various courses offered under Ministry Of Tourism scheme of CBSP which are fully funded by Govt. of India. Apart from the curriculum, IHM also presents four courses to create employable skills under the ‘Hunar Se Rozgar’ program beneath Capacity Building for Service Providers sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, which are Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, House-Keeping and Bakery.

Mr. Sanjay has his far-fetched journey spanning over three decades traveling the world and exploring the Travel and Tourism Industry alongside working with several hotel chains and developing the entrepreneurial stance which helped him in strengthening the College administration, Student Culture, Management, Planning, Team Dynamics and Professional Approach. His honors include the Unsung Hero by Accor Hotels, the first Principal rewarded by the Rotary Club International and is also greatly acknowledged by various banks, restaurants, and hotels for his contributions in enhancing their customer service through his development work.
For a man like Mr. Sanjay, the journey was not less than a package of hurdles and setbacks. Fighting back and overcoming them has resulted in an abundance of knowledge and experience that today he shares with his pupils and guide them all the way. He is a Professional Model and actor and exhibited his skills in many famous films and advertisements. Being a sportsperson and having played badminton in his early years, Mr. Sanjay, earned the personality of a great administrator, trainer, and coach. In addition to imparting knowledge, Mr. Sanjay is also sharing his ride as an entrepreneur. He founded the Old Fox – a multi-cuisine restaurant and Shanghai Surprise – food at your door.

Department of Tourism, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh also recognized IHM-Hyderabad for Award for Excellence. Additionally, IHM is also ISO certified and the students are bestowed from the interaction with Vice President of India.
